Sea to Eternity

A dream where I saw forever.

There's a sea of stars

That dance mirthful in ripples

Of an ocean's night

Author's Note

Carlos Lorenzo Estrada
I had a dream where I was lost at sea floating on a raft. It was a perfect night with the stars illuminating brightly in the sky. And as I looked out before me I could see the heavens perfectly mirrored in the dark rippling waves. The stars danced in them forever. It felt as if my soul had finally found home. Until my muse appeared on the other side of the raft dangling her feet into the water smiling. Then as is her nature she stood up and proceeded to walk out into the surface of the water. What a show off. And she said in her sensual Cate voice "What are you waiting for, idiot, write! I give you inspiration and like a lost puppy all you do is stare out into distance. Wake up and write this down!" I was shocked in the moment and blurted out the scene from 'A field of dreams' asking her..."Is this heaven? ". Without skipping a beat she said, "Any time you're in my presence you are in heaven, you idiot." And with that she was gone. I woke up and ended up writing something else. Eventually though I did finally remember this. Feel free to leave your thoughts or comments. Thanks for reading this piece.

Who could possibly fail to be inspired by the sight you have described here so beautifully Carlos. As a star gazer for as long as I can remember, I felt perfectly at home in that setting.

I SO love this Cate of yours... she is frisky, uplifting, a little fairy, a playful witch and in my opinion it is exactly what your heart and soul need. "Any time you're in my presence you are in heaven" and here SHE said it all~ though your words are simple but they are everything... heaven is mirrored endlessly over the deep ocean, yes, it is home. and B.T.W your note is a short story of can be transfer to a poem itself. I know it will be delightful :> and before I forgot because I seem to forget a lot these days... a truly Brilliant title.

As a former dream interpreter, (That's a long story.), I'd have to say that the feeling you felt, at the end of this dream, is the interpretation of the dream. ... "It felt as if my soul had finally found home." --- And so, you shall, in my humble opinion. :)

I really like that you write notes. You've written an excellent haiku that speaks of the 'nature' of your dream. I looked in my mind off into the horizon where the stars meet the ocean and saw them dance on a laugh. Thanks for stimulating my imagination as you usually do!
