The Sounds of Death

The Sounds of Death

A Poem by Chasity Reynolds

TICK, TOCK

watch the clock
the hours drag on by

BEND, SNAP

heart caught in a trap
forever left to cry

CRACK, POP

the voices never stop
eyes close and then sigh

CLINK, CLANK

mind becomes blank
just waiting to die

BREATH, SILENCE

destroyed by self violence
but now with wings to fly
