A health care parody

A health care parody

A Poem by AllAlone
"

The following is a reworking of an old favorite many of you will recognize. I am no naming the original author because controversy still exists as to who it was. This is MY VERSION.

"
First they decided not to treat the obese; and I said nothing, because I was not obese.

Then they refused to treat the smokers; and I said nothing because I didn't smoke.

Then they refused to treat the cancer stricken; and I said nothing because I did not have cancer.

Then they refused to treat the diabetics; and I said nothing because I was not a diabetic.

Then they refused to treat those with heart conditions; and I said nothing because I did not have a heart condition.

So I jogged home, and ate my granola alone.

I very much recognize the origins of this. Great parody and great social commentary
