The Front

The Front

A Poem by Lovely Mistake

The Front

Blood stained hands

and glistening bayonets,

tempers flairing,

alliances torn,

confusion resides

where courage once

[was]

plagued by ghosts

of war.

comrads gone

(forever more)

still i awake in the early morning light,

from battle scarred dreams

filled with fright.

empty screams and

weary eyes

[please]

dont send me back to

the front!
