Lost Light

A poem by: Allyson Bartolomei

When the moon stands tall

Against the starry wall

The darkness has risen

To reclaim the throne

When one sliver of light

Big and bright

Shows the land

Who can really win.

And deep and bold, stars a blaze,

The moon runs away

Returning the throne to the sun,

And vowing to return,

To reclaim what belonged.

Beautifully described the cycle of day and night. I liked it.
