the last thump

the last thump

A Chapter by samantha munning
"

just finding that a loss from a friend or love one hurts more than any physical pain could

"
alone an broken hearted
as he leaves yet again
though ive no recollection of what ive done
he leave yet again
the pain hits me like a train
that consumes me
like im drowning in ice water
the light has gone from my eyes for good
what am i to see now
but only darkness at every turn
i lay on the bed curled into a ball
slowly my heart thumps
getting slower an slower
a tear stand on my cheek
perfect in form
as my heart gives one last thump
and ends for good.
finding myself as i die
from my broken heart
that couldnt be healed.

Hard hitting and beautifully written. The use of metaphore adds to the strength of this poem. I write a lot about death and dying and would of been proud if I'd written this. Be proud and keep up the great work. Please look at some of my poetry sometime and let me know your thoughts. Steve
