Dark Guardian

Dark Guardian

A Poem by Mary

Dark Guardian

My dark feathers brush your flesh,

Tainting your purity with each breath,

It is love we wish to mesh.

I will forever be by your side,

It is my destiny.

I take each blow with stride,

A guardian on your path.

We soar high,

Tasting the night on our tongues

I protect you from all except myself

For I cannot be caged.

A monster some think,

But you are the wiser.

My beautiful liar.

Your eyes bright under the moon

You shine like an angel,

Though you cannot outshine my darkness.

But dark times hang over head,

Leaving you is what I dread

But my fears may be answered.

Your smile,

A hidden promise

Always a constant reminder of the end,

For your knowledge is not mine.

Although we are of a certain kind,

I wish we were dead

No longer night stalkers,

For death is our only true escape.

This sounds sorta like a romeo and juiliet situation. In some freaky way.

I agree with Chaffy this shows a sweetness to the darkness that I never saw before. Beautiful job. :) (could be a song)
