BETWEEN THE RIPPLES

winter weather

                  a grey day                            

                    to meet

                  my grey wishes

           I do not need to look outside to see

                        the thick mat

                              of clouds

                      for today they

                               occupy me

                        the rain

                                          forming puddles at my feet

                                    a single splash under

                                           a single toe

                     at my feet

                       between the ripples

                 I can see my reflection

                     a window

                       to the sky

                         for today

                            it resides in

                                    my eyes
