PALE

PALE

A Poem by lua
"

in thought and emotion

"

a single freckle

balancing

seduced by the inevitable slant of your cheekbone

and afraid

afraid of a fatal quiver

as a

red warmth

begins pooling around it

a monsoon in your veins

silently replacing

a ghostly look that

haunts

your face

a marble exterior

exchanged

for fear

hands in your lap

so pale

they cannot speak

of

the worlds they have created

cold to look at

invisible to touch

wrestling thoughts

connect

your fingertips

a gate

to a body of

mist

a gentle, suffocating

murmur of

what cannot be seen

I see you

This is utterly stunning! What vivid and textured words, and I love the life you gave to them. Great writing!
