THE ONLOOKER

THE ONLOOKER

A Poem by lua
"

an illusion of detachment

"

watching the world watching

me

a receptacle of the

universe’s will

an onlooker to the

intricate

skyline of stars whose presence arrives to me late

a stagger of time

dances through my eyes

a perfect tango of what was and what is

a timeless parade

running out of time

a false ending to the

endless

moments lost into nothing

into nowhere

are found

existing in

the intricate pirouette

reflected in the pupil of my

eye

and in that moment

I am the past

I am the nothing, the nowhere

waiting to be found

the onlooker,

spectating from afar

a universe

within

sometimes we are our own universe....we seem to be on the outside looking in...not connected, a star floating alone...
the last several lines of the next to last stanza are stunning...
"I am the nothing...waiting to be found"

thank you, we definitely are our own universe, both as a creator and a perceiver
