Running Through Air

Running Through Air

A Poem by lyss

Take me back.
To the crunch of the bark beneath my feet.
To my breath floating away in the wind.

I want to be free again.
To be the huntress stalking the night.

I miss running through trees,
Stopping to press my thumb against the bark,
Moving my finger in circles
Spelling out a code only I knew.

Take me back.

Let me go.

What a lovely piece that captures the feeling of longing so well. Just wanting to go back to better times, I can relate. Thank you so much for sharing (:

Makes me think of someone or something being held back. Tied down. Or captured. They want to be set free so they can get back to what they love. This is great :)

I enjoyed this a lot, it flows well, and draws the reader in with a sense of mystery waiting just on the cusp of discovery. I would love to know what this is about :)
