A Someone

I am not having a very good day.

Today is a day I wish to be held.

A day where all I want to do is curl into a ball

And pretend. 

I would like to pretend that the world is not the place it is.

I would like to pretend

That horrible things don't happen.

Today is a day

That I need someone.

Do the romantics exist?

The ones who come running

To hold the hand of a friend?

The ones who cross entire oceans to be with the ones they love.

I wish that I had someone.

To hold me

 To love me

To be with me even when it is inconvenient

Just because I was sad. 

Just because they wanted to be there. 

Can you be that someone?

Or can I be that someone for you?
