Stuck

I'm stuck.

You try to remove it,

you try to forget it,

but you can’t,

it’s stuck.

 

You try to move on,

you try to forget,

but you can’t,

it’s stuck.

 

It aches,

it bleeds,

it hurts,

because it’s stuck.

 

You try to move on,

but you can’t,

because it’s stuck,

because you’re stuck…

 

That moment your toothpick breaks and it gets stuck between your teeth. Yuck.

Haha, funny that you ask this question, this poem was about me who had accidentally broken his toothpick and then it got stuck between my teeth and it starting bleeding all over the place. That's were I got the idea from to write this 'poem'.

Absolutely fantastic! I love how you managed to twist something so deep and painful into surprisingly humorous at the end! I loved the punch line to bits!

The structure is pretty flawless, too. A great read both in the head and out loud, and the repetition of 'it's stuck, it's stuck' was able to draw me in effortlessly. I hope you're proud of this, because it's worthy of your pride!

though i don't believe we've previously communicated, i hope all is well with you. this is a great piece of poetry. one of those many things i adore about poetry is that it can be about almost anything! i like how short this piece is. i like how short its title is, and how short each line is until that last one. i have some envy for those, such as yourself, who can communicate your point so crisply and quickly. i struggle with that skill. as others have mentioned, my favorite part of this piece is that last line and how it plays with assumptions a reader might make about this piece's exact subject matter. i also like how it departs from how this poem reads, to bring in a surprise subject matter in a contrasting line length. excellent work. i hope you continue to share your talent with this site.

Indeed, I figure we haven't previously communicated, but that shouldn't be a problem. To answer your question right away: everything's fine. The thing is that I'm often busy with school.
I've used a bit of situational irony in this piece: the opposite of what you expected, happened. I'm glad you enjoyed it :)

Maybe it has some meaning, if you remove the last line. For example, the meaning could be "do not keep hanging in the past". It doesn't have to be one exact meaning, there could be more ;)
