Nostalgic for... Nothing because my past was a*s

A Poem by Jasmine A. Mack
"

I just found my old account on here so I'm gonna free verse out my feels~

"
I never came to understand
how they fed me s**t by hand
My fear grown long
it covered me
my sadness connected at the root

with triumphant blade
a loss of shade
my eyes drank in the world
it took my hand
to la la land
my eyes buldging and logic moot

the enigma between my thighs,
a quiet smile and slow goodbyes
I had a new place to be
I was myself
finally

it took a day to steal my heart
and 3 years later, only once will part
he held my love
he still does
I remind him every day, of who I never thought I'd be.

I really like the third stanza. Feels like I've been there except for maybe the first line haha. For me it was constant butterflies.

Interesting title, I must say. Letting go of the past can be hard albeit realizing that it was all really s**t.

'with triumphant blade
a loss of shade
my eyes drank in the world
it took my hand
to la la land
my eyes bulging and logic moot'

I liked this stanza the best. You've written out the emotions quite well.

In answer to your author's note: No, it ain't as dead as it seems sometimes ;)
