Snipers for Life

Snipers for Life

A Poem by Reflection

It will never end.................

It's us against them
shots of death on a whim,
game time it's the blue
shirts against Black skin.

Racial profiling is common
who cares who dropped the bomb,
the target is expecting retaliation
the world will never again be calm.

From religion to politics
the innocent are held hostage,
no one believes in the true God
the whole universe is agnostic.

Pride, power and ego
deems man a bewildered beast,
he'll do anything to reign supreme
even drink blood and call it a feast.

She weeps, it is her son
taken from life way too soon,
everyday it's on its way
a matter of time before the boom.

He's the anomaly, a decorated
officer with a heart for the people,
shot and killed in cold blood
death by association is the sequel.

Racial war will never expend
until we put hate on death row,
Snipers for Life on the run
yes, we reap what we sow.

This is my opinion only from my own observation: so many white racists profess to be such upstanding Christians and as old as I am, it amazes me that they can be so blind. And not all are low I.Q. people. It saddens me that this piece has so much truth in it. It's taken so long to come a short way...when I was an optimist, I thought I'd see the day. Looking at the facts, I'll never see the day. But I'd love to be wrong.

I have to agree with you. Damn...
In my lowest moments, I fear that your words are all too true, but I live in hope. Not for our generation - but maybe...

"She weeps, it is her son..." - this line, stark and simple, stands out. It is the heart of the issue - all are someone's son or daughter. If only everyone saw it this way... A powerful piece, my friend.
