Changing of the Seasons

Changing of the Seasons

A Poem by maddy
"

I wrote this to try and help patch the whole in my heart. It didn't do much

"

The unbearable summer heat never made me feel quite as warm as you did

Then the seasons changed and so did you

The leaves fell from the trees while I fell into darkness

They were left empty, naked, and vulnerable

Just as I was

The snow began to fall and I began to pick myself back up

I slipped on ice and back down I went

When the snow finally melted and the flowers began to bloom

I picked one up and thought of you

I placed it back down and continued to walk away

The seasons have changed and so have I

And that summer I felt warm even without you

This is a good one. I like the metaphors. Very well done. :)
