Enough

Enough

A Poem by And She Sings
"

This is something I didn't really know how to articulate.

"
You walk around with a smile
and dull eyes.
The lights have been beaten.
Shattered by
the constant chatter
of your reckless mind.
I sit by and watch
my own heart break
while my words
of love fall on
deaf ears.
The world will dare you
to be pushed around.
To be kicked when
you're already broken.
The world will dare you
to get back up.
Brush that chip
of your shoulder, darling,
before it weighs you down.
Take a look in the mirror,
and tell the girl I love
that you love her, too.
She is the motivation
for my future.
She is the sum
of my strengths.
She is the end
of my trials.
She is the world,
and I will give her a love
fit for that and more
so she can give herself just
enough.
