Shattered

Shattered

A Poem by Alisha Heistand

You. You did this.

You've shattered me

Left me broken and bleeding

Without a care in the world.

I'd scream, but I can't

You took my breath with you

My meaning

You took everything.

I don't eat

I can't sleep

I can't be

How could you?

You knew what would happen

You Knew!!!

And still you can't find it in yourself

To give a damn.

How could you be okay with this?

How can you live with this?

You've shattered me.

And then, you play mind games.

You look at me

You speak to me

You hug me.

And then, to top it off

You kiss me.

You bring me to our meadow

And lay with me and talk

You say you're sorry

You kiss me again

And then the next day

I don't exist.

You don't see what they see

You don't see what you've done to me.

You...

You've shattered me.

Knowing the legitimate truth behind this tale, I can tell you put a lot of emotion, feelings, and utter sadness into this poem. I can practically hear the anger from just the words alone. Great work on this, Alisha. Job well done.

An emotional write. How heartbreaking too - to feel so much for another person but then to also feel like you're just their plaything - leaving you so shattered.
Nice work here :)
