who is this, at the door?

who is this, at the door?

A Poem by Sawdust
"

'knock knock'

"

Who is this, at the door?

With such rich gifts in hand.

With a deep sea smile, that I love,

and time, eluding away like sand.

Is this you, my sweet smile?

Whom I have known since long

as a meadow lush and green,

where life sways like a song.

Or is this you, old friend grief?

Who holds my hands during my pain.

Who is heard in every silence,

as a malicious midnight rain.

Is this not you, clever lady love?

With whom I spent my nights untold.

Who filled my heart with a strange warm,

when outside was bleak bitter cold.

Oh! it is you, old wise life.

My best pal who still does remain.

Who deceives being cold and bland,

b

but everything I know does contain.

Your words danced to perfect closing.
"Is this not you, clever lady love?
With whom I spent my nights untold.
Who filled my heart with a strange warm,
when outside was bleak bitter cold."
I do like the above lines. Thank you my friend for sharing the amazing poetry.

I would say tis better that someone knocks, even if you do not know who, because the alternative is deadly. Loneliness kills. That's where your eloquent words took me dear Light. All good wishes to you.

And thought-provoking read that makes you ponder and think and take on board. Is it your love, friend, soul-mate, sadness, grief or upset. Knocking at your door.
