Finally I See

A Follow up Poem for "Forgive Me Not".. My feelings now.

Finally I see,
what I really loved.
It was the memories.
Not your hugs.

You said you loved me,
so many times.
I actually started the believe,
that you were mine.

Why did I let you,
say those things to me.
Why did I let you,
fill me with glee.

You said we were friends,
and I knew it was true.
It was brought to an end,
by someone named you.

They said you were a jerk,
but I didn't care.
It was me that was hurt,
I should've picked dare.

Choosing the truth,
isn't always the right way.
It's in our youth,
why can't I forget that day.

I've made up my mind,
and I'm not gonna change it.
I realize it's the time,
that helped me really make it.

I'm finding someone better,
and they're gonna treat me right.
I'll write you a Dear John letter,
but only so you'll sleep at night.

Goodbye forever,
I'll never forget you.
Never say never,
until you say I do.
