Statue

Statue

A Poem by marcus

The man of stone

is stuck, motionless

on the pediment.

Destined,

to watch helplessly

as the ages pass him by.

For he has been transfixed

in time and space,

all his splendid

vitality and beauty

has been preserved,

etched for all time,

in this intransigent marble.

Oh cruel irony,

the epitome of action

is frozen, forever.
