Mourning Star

Mourning Star

A Poem by marcie
"

a mother and her two daughters

"
You’re no stranger to blue days
The other star lives in your head
Grieved in a lot of places
But life’s no world for games
Where did your dreams go?

For the eldest, and that’s not me
I spent years in my own plains
Blinding myself to the truth
We chased after what we abused
Shutting out everything good

Scars don’t fade and my skin is blue
They’re waiting to bless you with great things
The other star waits for the worst
The scars have already become blue
Mourning stars in the dead night sky
