Flames of Cruel Seduction

Flames of Cruel Seduction

A Poem by Mahigan

I feed the waning fires of my acrid life
Watch as the flames rise up with noxious odor
Fumes of crushed dreams and shattered hopes fill the air
A smog of fetid reality suffocates my lungs

The flames flare up above me
They slowly dance and twirl in sinuous fashions
Beckoning me to step inside their flaming parlors
To scorch the flesh and sear the mind

They consume the space around me
Filling the pleasantly empty void with rollicking mirth
Spiteful in their happily vicious chords of dis-harmonies
The voices seething with malice

Their caresses burn my flesh
Searing into me their mark of inevitable tragedy
The imprint meaning a source of cousumption
Meant only as fuel for their wicked dance
