That was my love for you.

That was my love for you.

A Poem by Drowning with Stars

Love.
The kind of love that totally consumes your life.

The kind of love that makes you lose your grip

Until you're slipping, and sliding, and being thrown around
Without ever touching any of the things you're being flung at
Because you keep changing directions so suddenly that you can't keep up.

The kind of love takes all that strength, and independence, and control
That you've been building up your entire life

Suddenly unravel.

The kind of love that shouldn't even really exist

Because it's so ridiculously unrealistic

That it ought to be in a fairytale

Written by a child.

The kind of love that should frighten you more than anything you could ever possibly imagine.

More than lonliness.

More than pain.

More than betrayal.

More than hopelessness.

More than loss.

More than fear itself.

But instead of being scared,

You're laughing the whole time.

That kind of love.

About
What I love about poetry is that it's completely personal. Not only to the writer, but the same poem also means something a little different to every single reader, the same way a song is different to.. more..
