My Hero

My Hero

A Poem by Meliss@k
"

My view on war is that I wish it didn't exist, but sometime through war one learns what love truly is.

"
Embrace me, Love.
Never let go.
When you're out there all alone,
Fighting for me,
For us to be free,
Remember I'll be waiting here,
I'll never leave.
Pin my heart to your sleeve.
My Hero.

Embrace me, Love.
Don't give up hope.
There is a mighty Spirit watching over you close,
Wherever you go He is Commander,
Shelter for you with His protecting coat,
And when you're all alone He is there,
I'm still at home,
But remember, Love, I'll be waiting here.
Pin my heart to your sleeve,
I'll never leave.
My Hero.

Come back to me, Love.
Home, and out of harms way.
It would kill me to see you hurt,
but you say you must go,
A sacrifice you make for the world,
Known?
With every passing day,
I may not have a say,
But remember, Love
I'll be waiting here,
I'll never leave,
Pin my heart to your sleeve,
And on the day you return,
Tears in my eyes,
Arms open wide,
We will embrace and I'll reply,
"Welcome home good and faithful Soldier",

Pin my heart to your sleeve, Love.
I'll never leave, Love.
My Hero.

This soldier is obviously one in a million.
Every soldier would love to return to such
a welcome, but few will.
This is love , overflowing, selfless--- I could
go on raving about this sweet person, but
she speaks for herself---- see the above poem
a work of art, a masterpiece and a testament
to love.

Thanks and you know about overwhelming.
at least someone is waiting to welcome home the soldier who is fighting for our freedom.

this makes me feel a touch of sadness when i think of vietnam...we may not have believed in the war itself...but the treatment of the soldiers when they came back was appalling...they were only doing their duty..and many just forgot that...and abused them as part of the establishment.

this poem is refreshing...the soldier coming home to open arms rather than sneers and jeers.

This poem is so wide. A hero here can be Jesus , a lover fighting for love or a soldier.
its interesting.
