Mail Man

Mail Man

A Poem by Meliss@k

I’m expecting a piece of mail
“7- 10 business days”
It’ll be within my grip

“7-10 business days”
A slightly uncertain pinpoint,
To a highly promised gift

A piece of mail
I’ve always wanted
But never knew I’d find

A piece of mail
That’ll change my life
The moment it arrives

A piece of mail
Different from everyone else’s
Specifically written for me

A piece of mail, A peace of mind
Running to the mailbox
-checking each time-

Opening,
And closing,
Then opening once again

For this piece of mail
I’ve waited for,
I’ve prayed for ... ‘come soon!’

“7-10 business days”
-seems like a lifetime of waiting-
but what’s the difference in a lifetime more- from a lifetime already fading

“7-10 business days”
Ripping its bonding seal
And unfolding all its creases

A personalized note,
Addressed Hello
And sealed, a kiss, Goodbye

“My dearest Love,
Always yours, Always mine,
Always, ‘till the day we die”

A piece of mail, A piece of mind
“7-10 business days”
He’ll be forever mine

The things you wait on in life, you might not get. I've wanted many things in life I never got. One of those things was an arcade machine. Oh well.

What would you do if I told you that finding a husband might not be in the cards for you? What would you say? If God told you that wasn't His plan for you, would you be OK with that? If He doesn't answer you in your direst time of need, would that cause you to abandon Him? Many have abandoned God because they found out He wasn't there to grant their wishes like some magical genie.

Are you OK with potentially not having a mate or finding a husband? Are you potentially OK with not getting what YOU want in life, but what God wants you to have? That's what you get, you know. You don't get what YOU want out of life. If you ask me, making plans in life is a fool's errand. But maybe not everyone can be like me.
