Dreams that Die

Dreams that Die

A Poem by Melissa Jamma
"

Feeling hurt one day.

"
The walls come crashing down at once
Rubble, blood, tears, screams
You look around and nobody notices, nobody cares
You see that no one rushes to your rescue or hugs or listens to you

The walls come crashing down at once
And you're all alone in the emptiness
The metaphorical hell
The psychological torture

The walls come crashing down at once
Hard, relentless, no mercy
No friends to save you
No love to embrace you

Just you standing in rubble and soot
Blood and tears everywhere
But nobody cares, nobody looks over

This is present day family and friends
This is present day neighbors and colleagues
All strangers when you need them the most
