The AwakeningA Poem by linearNo ideaLying
face down with your head in the ground Eyes
wide open trying to sleep Blot
out the image blot out the light Scared
if you see it you might take flight Heavens
are opened And
thunder in sight Take
out the world take out thy sight Leave
me in ribbons tattered and frayed Let
me alone, allow me to go home Grey
are the clouds, dark is the night Bury
me deep Down
in the ground O
let me sleep or let me go home If
I should rise and the sun would shine Take
off your apron and sing out aloud Wrap
me in your arms like a swaddling child Feeding
me with milk of kindness Giving
to the whole world Life
