No Oscar for Mr Turner

No Oscar for Mr Turner

A Poem by Gerald Parker

It would have been rude

of us to stare

so we quickly looked away

disappointment

doesn't necessarily

show on an actor's face

not in Prezzo anyway

he finished his coffee

and stood up to leave

he knew we'd

recognised him

we could tell

by the twist of a smile

as he passed us

part of an act perhaps

to disguise the hurt.

About
There's not much to tell. I read a lot of poetry and I read my own poetry regularly. I hope other people read it and derive as much pleasure out of it as I do. My output is small, about 110 poems as I.. more..
