And While Voice Hides

And while voice hides in vacancy, silence lives high

Smoking on the weakness of my mind

I will not let this world steal my words and

I will not let them rob my worth

And so never will I loose myself.

World’s darkness shall not shove Shallow down my neck

But my voice will approach as each coming day and

Blanket the sky like the color of night

My voice will mine and

I will never be ashamed,

Ashamed of who I am

For I will walk into the dark, and the shadows of this world

And I will find my voice,

For it waits among the noise of deceit but

Never shall I believe

And if myself may turn against me

The light of truth will never fail to guide me

I cannot wait for the time to say all that I mean

And I all that I wish,

I cannot wait for my moment, my chance to

Go out and speak, so my journey starts now.

I cannot wait for a crowd to hear this

So I will take hold.

Oh, silence be wise and know when to talk

Because my weakness will be strong,

My weakness will be strong.

 

My throat longs for a sound

And my voice is was a wanderer, piled on top of what is never found

But I hear my sound carrying hope from afar.

I can touch my voice

And from the tips of my fingers I will never stop reaching

And my words will strike like thunder while

My silence will fall with failure.

This poem's about finding your voice and the courage to speak. To express yourself verbally, not becoming contorled but silence.
