Burning Out

This poem compares fire to life. Many things in life burn bright, yet are gone in an instant.

Burning fast and high but not for long,

Flickering away without a final song

Burns so bright, but it's gone so fast

Disappearing in a second, only embers last

The embers linger, a reminder of what was

But in the end they're gone, no matter what one does
