A Poem by Luna

a haibun is a composition made of a prose section and a haiku. here's one about memories from my childhood :)

I’m seven. Fingers intertwined with my grandma’s, I walk on the soft, green grass of her enormous garden, unknowingly creating one of the many memories of my happy and carefree childhood. I breathe deeply, inhaling clean air and smelling thousands of different flower scents. The birds are chirping, the sun is warming every inch of my body. I kneel to the ground and gently pick up a cat- one of the many- and pet him, softly combing his gray fur. When I get up again, grandma hands me a daisy, one of those small, white, innocent flowers of which the petals we often have the habit to pick. That’s exactly what I start doing. “M’ama - non m’ama - m’ama - non m’ama…”

In the distance, dandelions

Swaying with the wind

Their seeds flying away
