The Gates of No Retreat

The Gates of No Retreat

A Poem by Arly Parent

Something strange happens at the Gate of No Retreat
Blaring horns and stomping feet
Cold flames
and searing heat
Stalwart walls
and pounds of meat
unhorse the rider from his seat
Here comes the night
the night

There's nothing about me. I play with pauses as well as silence. I write words, assign meanings and junk, and play with a language that might be as much my own as another. I don't know. more..
