Wings

A wish to fly

No malice, no pain, no fear,
When I twitch my toes
And move my arms,
I close my eyes and see the fire
In me
Burn and blaze and glow alight
With all the chained feelings
I have never expressed.
I give the music
A form of my soul;
I revel in it.
The music flows in me;
And I dance,
I twirl,
I jump and fly,
Spread my wings wide.
See me now--
See the scars that are glowing bright ,
See the tears that are silvery white.
Look at me;
The broken me,
Laughing with joy.

Your poem reminds me that on life's journey we can all feel at times that our wings have been clipped in times of trouble. What a contrast that is from when we are feeling great and that the world is our oyster. We can surely fly high then. I enjoyed the movement and emotion conveyed in your lines.
