Sour Recall

Sour Recall

A Poem by Sora Kim

I’m coming back here again,

Who knew that this would happen more than once,

You were here once,

You would’ve dragged yourself here if you could,

Wouldn’t you?

The place that you guided the great show,

The greatest show of what entertainment was,

No curtains call,

Just the place that spoke out for itself.

You never let the show die,

But,

You forgot that you could too.

You forgot that the stage wasn’t waiting

And you forgot that the stage wouldn’t save you.

Passing on, like it was just time,

Passing on, like it was just time,

How you could slip away unnoticed,

Completely splattered with ink from a grave

It’s a wonder, an immersive mission

Just how we didn’t notice those marks

that you could be returned

A blessing, we all called you,

Yet we forget,

Oh, how we forgot,

A blessing can be returned.

And there,

You were returned.
