All That is Life

All That is Life

A Poem by Doug

Frozen brown grass is still

To the wind that whistles

Past my cracked window.

Grandpa’s desk was moved

Three weeks back.

I needed life in front of me.

And I write.

I write the wood floor creaks,

The shed rust,

And barn wood rot.

I write all that is life;

The barn loft owl family,

Whitetail deer field jumping,

And you.

I write all that is life

And it’s you.

About
One night while I was asleep I had the words, "Veni, Vidi, Vici" repeating in my head. All night this happened. I want to somehow use this creatively. I feel like it was a sign to use it for some s.. more..
