I am?

I am?

A Poem by Misfit By Choice
"

okay, so, i joined this writing internship, which is run by two of the adult mentors for my theater group, and they both have writing majors and stuff like that, but i don't get line breaks! help?

"

I Am...

I am the graffiti

Stretching the length of my arms

Used as a distraction

From the real story

Painted there.

I am the small, barely

noticeable cuts on your

wrists,

reminding you of times

when things

got so bad

you needed a distraction

I am the friend you never had,

to tell you you ARE

Those strong endless mountains,

You are a dancer on the winter air,

Taking my breath away.

I am the flood

Flowing down, the sadness my spring

My tears the drops lost

Over the downpour

Me, the wall you lean on

in hard times,

hiding my own feelings

to be strong for

you.

I am the insecurities,

unsaid words and

symbols coating your skin

I am the fights, and

insults, and hunger,

cutting deeper every day

I am the stranger,

treating another

in the way you only

dream, of being treated,

the boy who, deep down

is just, like you.
