In Between the Lines

In Between the Lines

A Poem by Amy

In between the lines is where I hide,

where you have to look,

the answers lies.

In between the lines my soul screams for you,

but you love to skip sentences,

as you skim through.

In between the lines I call out your name,

Can you hear me?

Does my voice sound the same?

In between the lines there is a lesson to be learned,

a meaningful story,

where I’ve been burned.

In between the lines you’re blind to all of this,

you could care less,

you selfish, lousy, prick.

In between the lines you were asked to try,

but “God forbid”

you’d much rather lie.

In between the lines you can’t connect the dots,

you misread their meanings,

my heart is tangled up in knots.

In between the lines there’s you and I,

but as we fade,

you start to cry.

In between the lines I walk away,

there’s no need to worry,

tomorrow's a brand new day.

It's a shame that more people can't read between the lines, especially when we most need them to. I really liked this. It's clever and endearing! One of my favorites from you so far! Great piece :)

"In between the lines" you can get a very good story. This was a good piece, very sweet and sad at the same time.
