As I Sit

As I Sit

A Poem by Amy

As I sit here waiting,

waiting for you,

the heat seems to get cooler,

the stars paint the truth.

As I sit here waiting,

there is no light,

I am in darkness,

I’ve lost my sense of sight.

As I sit here waiting,

perfection is lost,

there is no point to anything,

that line has been crossed.

As I sit here waiting,

I search for myself,

as I grow and realize,

you aren’t good for my health.

As I sit here waiting,

I try to reason with sense,

my heart feels heavy,

my soul is dense.

As I sit here waiting,

I try not to cry,

as I blink away tears,

I look up into the sky.

Only to find,

that even the best fall down sometimes,

even the sane loose piece of mind,

out of the dark,

you seem so kind,

but now I see you on the other side,

as you sit here waiting,

just like me…

"even the best fall down sometimes" - That's from Howie Day "Collide". Great song, and it's so true! I hope you got inspired by that song, cause it's generally the same message that you constructed here Amy! Ah, I love this.

your message is very clear expressed in poetic prose. Sitting waiting never solves problems though.
You have to pursue your dreams actively
