Kissing in the Summer Rain

Kissing in the Summer Rain

A Poem by Miss Fox

It's raining so hard that you can only hear
the rain hitting the asphalt.
You can only see
a blur of light from the street lamp
because of the water in your eyes.
(rain or tears,
you can't tell anymore.)
He's saying something
but his voice is thunder.
Lightning brightens the sky for only a moment
and you glimpse his silhouette
against the white sky.
You're soaked.
You're shivering.
He hits you-
or maybe it's just the rain against your cheek.
He takes you in his arms.
He's sobbing.
You're still shaking
from the cold
or fear-
You'll never know.

These three line strike me in the lines:

It's raining so hard that you can only hear
the rain hitting the asphalt.

Lightning brightens the sky for only a moment
and you glimpse his silhouette
against the white sky.

He hits you-
or maybe it's just the rain against your cheek.

and the last line give one to wonder... leave mystery in the lines...
