Nothing

Nothing

A Poem by Jennifer

Take my brain

It has the truth

Nobody listens to the truth

Take my eyes

They see someone they like

Nobody likes me back

Take my hands

They are love

Nobody touches me back

Take my feet

They take me to someone

They bail on me when I arrive

Take my lungs

You should be the air that I breathe

Your ignorance is stifling me

Take my heart

It used to beat for you

My heart has no reason to beat

Take my happiness

There is no such thing

Too many people want to make me feel miserable

Take my sorrow

It has wept for you

My sorrow just weeps

Take my mouth

It wants to tell a story

Nobody is there to listen

Take all my reproduction

It's never going to give life

It's just simply used

Take it all and burn it

Because that is all everyone wants to do with it

Powerful words.....though our emotions can sometimes suck out all hope from our souls......while hope always remains.

My sister has accepted now, at the age of 48, that she is happily single. Either one has to make that decision, or keep the hope alive.....:)

Gee
Reads like the couples you see when out for a meal. They sit across from each other sharing food and drink but neither words or looks.

Wonderfully painful poem, dear poet.

If we burn your everything, we burn this world, because the history of this world lives in every woman.
Shall we burn this world?

Poem by poem it is becoming known. You are welcome.
Very depressing poem that accurately describes those moments we all have when we feel down and nothing goes right. For me it's generally linked to PMS.

You are always welcome!
Your words are very potent when it comes to conveying the anchoring effects and the drowning effects of emotion. I suspect that it is health to purge such shadows into ink form so that the daily breath doesn't have to be filled with soot from the fires of anguish and pain.
I hope that writing these words effected a theraputic resonance.

Hope and Light to you! Thanks for sharing your ink!
