Here and Now

Here and Now

A Poem by M Lamont

Stars united to form the perfect ceiling
Bright light fills the valley in the desert
All the glorious views that surround me
Hoping to remember so I can share them with you

The world has taken on a different hue
Not as vivid as I remember
My distracted mind needs to be reminded
The loneliness is not the nicest of companions

This purgatory existence has an end in sight
My eyes tire of looking so far ahead
I am too easily distracted of the blatant fact
You are not by my side

"Stars united to form the perfect ceiling"
This probably one of the the best openers for a poem that I have ever read- so majestic and powerful and later in the poem only goes to show how tiny we are especially when we miss someone- fantastic piece.

Ok, so I looked at the image first...and I couldn't stop thinking about belly button lint! : ) With the seriousness of the poem the image simply says, you are not around for even the littlest of silly things. It's not too late to start a journal, if you've not done that yet!

This is so ..... poetic!!! I feel for you.... as Tom Petty says... "the waiting is the hardest part"

I like the ceiling of stars image. It adds to the image of loneliness you've portrayed. I enjoyed this very much.
