A Poem by M Lamont

Thanks for giving me what you think I need

It is enough, thanks again

I will be sure to hold it tight

I am not quite fulfilled, but will keep it close

With all my might

Thanks for ignoring what I really need

It is obvious you can’t see through

The thin veil I presented

That scarcely hides the true me

The world can see it

I feel their stare burn into me

I revel in the happiness this creates

The others are welcomed to have me

While you choose to disassociate

Thanks

this is a burning stare of a poem, its indignant but firm in its resolve - i am happy i read this tonight, i want to say "thanks, but" to a couple of people... this is a giant "with all due respect" poem, followed by the bullshit-disrespectful quip! i like it a lot, these lines in particular:
"It is obvious you cant see through
The thin veil I presented
That scarcely hides the true me"
nice touch,

G

Wow. There's a lot of power in these words....
Very strong...
And tragic
