The Sickness

The Sickness

A Poem by mnicorata
"

A poem I wrote about how I feel at times.

"

The heat gathers around the ears

Finding its way inside the head

The weight carries on throughout

Pacing away into constant dread

As pain enters into the veins

I feel tightness around the waist

A fever rises inside the brain

Ringing noises make the haste

Vision seems to blur in the eyes

As sleepiness enters into grace

Weakness follows to my surprise

As dullness fills within the haze

Weight slowly piercing the limp knee

As prickles start to form on the skin

Deadly warmth spread into cheek

Knuckles and elbows reflecting tin

Redness forms upon the open sore

Agonizing dizziness floating above

Poisonous venom just as in the lore

Within my mind forbidding my love

The sickness seems to conquer inside

As my body pulls itself out to inhale

Desperate lungs, they try to abide

Just as death, lying out from the pale

Nothing seems to gather in naught

From some faceless sanction thought

All the times I so humbly have fought

Numbly fading into tired brittle draught

~I recall having a few of these symptoms years ago. Supermarkets were the worst for me. I'd get up towards the register and feel like everyone there was staring at me. This is nicely written with great detail.~
