The Eyes That Stole My Soul

I wrote this poem after developing emotions towards a friend I had seen on the plane. I dreamt her and felt that she was the one. There was something in her eyes that I have never seen before!

Looking into your deep dark eyes
I feel like I’ve become a king
Your bronze tan skin
Makes my heart ring

When I first meet you
Your laugh took me away
You were colorful as a macaw
Cuter than a button
your heart was soft as cotton

Your voice puts me in a garden
Filled with luxurious roses
It’s music to my ears that
Comforts my soul and in your
Eyes is innocence and warmth
That’s reminds me the world is okay

I value our friendship and pray
That it lasts on earth and
Continues in the highest
degrees of heaven

The coincidences I had with you
Made me believe that you are the right one,
seeing you in my dreams assured me
That you’re sent from paradise

The happiest I’ve ever been
Was in God’s mighty skies
Sitting next to an angel
You took me to heaven
What else could I ask for?

You’ve become the air I breathe
And the sight to my eyes
I love you more and more
With every heartbeat of mine

When I see you in my dreams
I wake up with your name in my eyes,

It gives me the hope
That rises me from bed
Even on the coldest of days

I’ve swarmed around Paris
Thinking of you in the city of love,
And what I want to bring to you
Can’t be wrapped up in a bag,
Happiness that lasts for life,
And a beautiful laugh
that never leaves your face

Divers find pearls inside shells
I find in you the most generous
Jewels, from amethysts to zircons,
they sparkle all

You’re insecure about your nose
But it’s the only one out of
seven billion that attracts
me even more than gravity

So give me a chance
to get what I want
To treat you as a princess
What you truly deserve

Roses are red
Violets are blue
Diamonds are beautiful
And so are you
