Chapter 4

Chapter 4

A Chapter by Tara♥Undefined♥

" I hope you have learned how you are to behave in my castle from
now on?" he said with a smile that raised the anger within me.

" What do you mean?" I said confused.

"After your little display last night you’d think you’d have something
to say."

"I haven’t seen you in years Victor. What do you mean?" I asked
confused.

"What game are you playing at child, I don’t like it."At that I just stared
confused and scared in his direction.

" I’m going to bring that witch up here, she’ll straighten you out." He
was mumbling to himself just loud enough for me to hear him. He left with a
loud bang of the door. I was about to go after him when a call came from
outside the hole in the wall.

" Luna..." it said.

Who was this Luna. "I wish that someone would come to call me in such
a way." I thought. There it was again.

"Luna.. Lunaria!" I had to see what the fuss was about. I looked out of
the wall and saw a boy. My age, perhaps.

I’m sorry boy, but there is no girl by that name here." I said.

" Luna! It’s me. Diarmuid." he called for this nonexistent girl once
more.

" I’m sorry you have mistaken me for someone else. I have never met you. I have never met you in my life." I replied sadly and almost unwilling to speak to this stranger.

"What do you mean? Luna, do you not remember me?"

"What memory can I have of a man I do not know?" I said annoyed now by his stubbornness. I only wanted to go back to my bed.

"But you do, my love. You must," he cried. " Please just look at me. You
know me. What have these people done to you? Did they make you forget?
Did they hurt you? Tell me. I promise you I’ll get you out of here. I promise,"
with that he left running to grassy field that I longed to see. It somehow
looked familiar to me.

I don’t know why and I don’t know how., but maybe, just maybe. I
remembered that boy. That, though was just a dream. Just my mind wanting
to have actually known an ounce about what was out there waiting for me..

Then, shaking me from my thoughts, my door swung open and with a
maiden with which I was not familiar, came Victor.

Here," he said." This girl has been disobedient and treated me in such
a disrespectful way." he was talking to the women. About me I presumed.
"Teach her a lesson and tell me what’s wrong with her. Show me." The woman
hesitated at first but after a push from the Admiral came closer to me.

" I’m sorry Luna," she whispered in my ear.

"Luna? Who’s..." before I could ask her about this strange name she
referred to me as, she squinted her eyes and put her hand around my throat.

Instantly everything went black, and soon after, visions of me in my
room flashed before my eyes. I was floating. Surrounded by this red cloud of
smoke. It was so strange. It scared me. Then the visions disappeared and I
was consumed in blackness.

When I awoke I found myself hidden beneath my bed.
What happened? I thought. That was so strange. I could have sworn I saw
myself doing... magick. Shaken from my thoughts by a yell from outside I rose
and crept silently to peer at whatever beckoned me. That boy. More familiar
now, was here again. I still could’t place it though. Something was speaking
to me about this boy. Something strange.

" Luna, are you there?" he cried

" Yes, I am here boy. What is it that you seek?" I asked.

"You of course. I must get you out of here. Hurry come. Can you find
some way out?"

"Why would I leave. I yearn for nothing but what I have here." I lied.

"Don’t you see, my love, they are tearing your heart from your head.
Remember me. Don’t you?"now his voice was high and much more quiet than
before.

" I do not." I retorted blankly.

"Please!" he was willingly showing emotion that overcame me in the
most astonishing way. " I love you Lunaria."

Suddenly a flash of warm yellow light burst from within. The sensation
was overwhelming and to a point gave me sight. I realized now. What
happened to me was real and I must get out of there now. I realized that I was under that spell for almost two months.

I tried to walk through the walls like I now clearly remembered having
done previously, but something was wrong.

There was still a blank in my memory. I din’t know what about, but
something shined brightly in me through a slight fissure as if trying to break
free but unsuccessful.

" D-D-D- Diarmuid?" I stuttered.

" Yes, " Diarmuid exhaled in relief. "Yes, it’s me. Luna it’s me. Come
here I’ll take you home. We can be free. I can’t let them do this to you. Can
you fit through the hole? Perhaps I could catch you." Though I knew he was
serious, I couldn’t help by laugh.

" Are you alright?" I joked." There is no possible way for me to survive
such a fall. Let alone fit through such a tiny fracture. I’ll find some other
way. Return tomorrow. I will be free. I promise you Diarmuid. I-I..." I
wanted to tell him but I couldn’t udder the words . I do not know why but I
could not. " I will see you in the morning." I said disappointedly.

"Oh, oh, of-of course. Yes. Tomorrow." his response was almost as cold
and disappointed as I felt my heart was. " I promise I’ll return."

With that he left. He did not return the next day or the day after
that. I began to grow weary with overwhelming grief and sorrow.

My only friend in this world was gone. I knew this was true. I could
feel it. Diarmuid was dead. At that last thought I began to cry
uncontrollably. I lost him. My life was with that boy. With his family. His
town. All witch I was never to see again.

The last words I spoke to him were not of truth. Not of heart, but of fear
and now shame. I lost everything. I had almost as fast as bullet’s fly. My
heart was numb, my brain dead for all I knew, yet I did not care. I just
wanted Diarmuid back. I had feared to tell him how much I loved him. Now I wish I had.

A few days later my painful belief was proven when the woman I
recalled being my mother came to my room. She was not moving her lips as she spoke, just like me, but I knew I was the only one who could hear her. Then, I understood. She was in control of her mind’s voice. She could control just who heard her and who did not.
Something important was about to become a part of my life. I knew that
now.

" Darling," she began." The Admiral is out of control. I have found that
he is clearly the cause of the drought. He has been draining the power
from the planet’s core in order to empower himself."

"Tell me it is not so Mama." I asked in a quiet whisper.

"Shhh, child even a whisper will draw attention in this place. Look,
your friend Diarmuid, he is alive. The Admiral does not know this. He doesn’t
know that you did this." When I gave her an odd confused glance she
understood that I had nothing to do with it.

" Darling, something in you is stronger than prophesied. You, without
knowledge of it, put a protection spell on that boy. This never happens. Not
unless the prophesied finds equality. They must find truth in one whom is
not meant to be so. It is Diarmuid that is your equal my child. You mustn't
leave him. He is your only safety in this world. Do you understand?"

I shook my head. I knew Diarmuid was gone. I could not get him back. Mother knew what i was thinking somehow.

" Diarmuid is not dead. I understand how you sense it, but it is misleading. He is close to death but you can save him."

I nodded furiously and with a look she knew that all I wanted to do was see
Diarmuid.

" Right now I must leave you but you must get out. Diarmuid is
sheltered in a far corner of Navaar and is awaiting your arrival. You musn’t
allow anything or any one to stop you from getting to him. You musn’t." A
bang at the door to the tower interrupted us.

"Women, visiting time is up."the guard said with a harsh tone. He
grabbed mother by the arm and took her away, locking the door to freedom
behind them.

At the shock of all the heartache and tears I began to weep. As I
wept the pain and sorrow in my heart transformed into lust and need and
strength all at once. I knew what I had to do now and I would stop at
nothing to save my beloved Diarmuid. I knew there would be fighting I knew
about the death but in the end the most important thing I had learned was
that in the end there would be war.

I stood my ground as the door to my tower swung open. In stepped
the tall masculine figure of one of the guards. At this point I realized that
Victor had informed all of his most trusted men about me and my love.
Apparently mother as well.

"Woah, sweetie." the man exclaimed with a laugh. " I’m just here to
keep a close eye on you. I'm your protection. "

He disgusted me so much. I swung out an arm and punched him into
the wall behind him. He tried to stand but I would’t allow it. I placed foot
against his throat and decided to get rid of these beasts once and for all. I
twisted his neck with a quick snap and kissed him on the cheek with a
spiteful look on my face.

"I’m not your sweetie." I whispered and left. When I was out the door
I tried to concentrate on my powers so I could speak like my mother had . I tried to speak with my mind to only my mother. "Mother," I thought. " I will come for soon. I
promise I will." I was sure it hadn’t worked but I felt it was worth a try.

On my way down the stairs of the tower I could have sworn the echo
of " Raja, My darling" repeat over and over until the end of the dreaded
tunnel.

I couldn’t believe it. I was only feet away from my freedom into open
air and fields of beauty. As I stepped slowly towards my escape I heard the
shout of many men from down the hall.

I turned my head fast enough to conjour some sort of force that
blocked all the shots thrown at me by the mob. The force of this pure and
protective magic was unlike all my others. It was blue but not the same it
was deep and beautiful magic, but within it lied anger. That was the source
of its protective ability.

Every ounce of my body soaked it up and made it one with me. In the
end I felt as if a part of me that had been missing had filled me and broken
all at once. I had revenge in my mind and was anticipating its arrival any
minute. These fools thought they could over power me.

"Hah!" I shouted out loud. "You won’t stop me from foiling your
master’s evil plan. He’s consumed in greed and doesn’t even see the errors of
his ways. For this the people will pay. You will pay. yet you are blinded by the
lies he’s told you so you you still fight for him it’s insane."

For a short moment the army ceased fire and silence crept over the
forbidden hall. A hand placed itself on my shoulder and I quickly turned
prepared for a fight.
