Breath in, breath out.

Breath in, breath out.

A Poem by Domenic Stewart
"

A poem I wrote while feeling rather depressed to cheer myself up. It will start off grim and dark however the feeling turns from dark to light as the poem goes on, if you read it through.

"
Breathe in, breathe out.
Come on you miserable lout.
It's time for the first bout.

As you walk out into the crowd all you can see on each face is a frown.
Time has once again let you down.
You got hopeful and now who's the clown?

One, two, three, four.
How many f**k-ups more?
Blindsided by number five and shattered at the core.

Breathe in, breathe out.
Come on you hopeless lout.
It's time for the second bout.

You made it past one.
But does that mean you really might have won?
The weight of what's to come is a ton.

One foot in front of the other.
March on little soldier.
As none of your questions are answered and you're left in wonder.

Breathe in, breathe out.
Come on you surviving little lout.
It's time for the third bout.

You made it through challenge one and two.
But what direction are you going, do you have a clue?
You may have chances but chances few.

What's this though, this shimmer?
Do you really think you could have even a glimmer?
The more you hope the more your odds get slimmer.

Breathe in, breathe out, and smile.
Come on since you're hopeful a while.
You've already beaten the long mile.

You first seemed hopeless.
You felt worthless.
But you showed your willfulness.

Now all you have to do is open the door.
You've picked yourself up off the floor.
And you've overcome your internal war.

Breathe in, breathe out, hope.
You've managed to cope.
And now you have a new view on life, so put away the rope and kick the dope.

Each morning rises the sun.
As an endless reminder that you HAVE won.
Now go and have some fun.
