Twisted in Affection

Twisted in Affection

A Poem by Shaunta R. Edwards

All these things about you...

confuse me to my soul...

I Love You... I Hate You...

Arguments left Lingering...

Distant cries of Yesterday,

Still grasping at my Heart....

Constant Battle

Arguments tossed about...

Yet the Love remains....

No matter what you do, it will never change...

You are a part of me

As I am a part of you...

Stabbings, Jail, Brusies...

Maybe it's the mother in Me...

I want to hold you, Want to love you, Want you in my arms...

And I do... it runs deep within me

Even without Romance,

Even without Butterflies,

I know it is real

The fire that burns within

No matter how hard I try to give you up

You won't let me

Love won't let me....

And I love you more for it...
