The tree

The tree

A Poem by moonbeam40
"

nature.

"

The purpose of the tree is manifold,

the reason for its being here is told

all trees that grow they are of the bough

and on all branches leaves he did endow

oxygen from these leaves doth flow

to help the earth and all within it grow

to sustain life in all its many varied forms

every species in existence ever born

the trees they grow in all their majesty

are there for every sighted eye to see

producing fruits and nuts for one and all

which by their very nature they do fall

on to the ground were they abound

for every creature to be found

they also house the wildlife families

birds build their nests,to hatch their young,

its where their songs are often sung

and up their trunks the squirrels run

to gather nuts, and bask in the sun

they are not there at will to be felled

these majestic trees that serve you all so well, nature will do this task very well

The only time you may fell a tree

is if it is over ridden with disease

they must stay and serve their natural

span, and not be hewn, by greedy human hands,

and of these trees you must take great care

when nature stops all the fruits they bear,

just prune them back and leave them there,

throughout the winter for them to prepare

next seasons fruits for all to share.

Without the tree, you would not be.

Sometimes us humans have no real concept of beauty and creation, and how important our nature is, and here you touch on the beauty of tree's, as if they are the humans giving and sharing, all through their lives, and your writing makes them come alive ~ beautifully done.

I agree with your words and your logic. Trees, water and air are the life blood of all human and animal life. I enjoyed your description and story in the words. A powerful poem with a real message. A outstanding poem.

::superlike:: ! as a nature lover and an opponent of the rampant felling of trees , i can understand the depth in the words that you have used herein . the beauty of the trees and their importance in nurturing our spirit is manifold and we should treasure them .. sadly the 'greedy hands' don't seem to to stop . just hope that someday they'll . really pleased to have chance upon this write (all thanks to bubo). keep writing and sharing !

I really liked this. I'm a nature nut and I love trees. I also like what I see in their covering as the bark. A world all its own.

Thank you for sharing moonbeam - Welcome to the Cafe.

Your feeling for The Tree is undeniable and as a gardener I can't agree more. The Tree is a human being's best friend: it talks to a person who has the sensitivity and intelligence to listen, it shelters and feeds, it provides oxygen in an increasingly more polluted world and more. I feel your thoughts and fully appreciate this beautiful poem, ' .. the trees they grow in all their majesty, ~~ are there for every sighted eye to see, .. '
