Night's Embrace

A thousand struggles, a million solutions,
Perfect moments broke slight by slight confusions,
How tired, how weary, a person can be
Whilst the pain deepens inside

We yearn for its warm, soft, friendly touch;
Craddled in its arms when life burdens too much
We all long to rest and take a knee
When the path is long and the road is wide

And just as much, I need you here
To read the words that I've held so dear
I'll wait and wait for your embrace
'Till you return and heal me again

In your presence, somehow, I find peace,
And for you I'll write and I won't cease,
And if you leave, you know my place
Come back and I'll start all over again
